Kecmanovic had not dropped a set until the semifinals, and Italy’s Marco Cecchinato (96th) was not the one to stop him either. After just 1h 9m, the match against Cecchinato ended with the final scores of 6/3 and 6/1. Kecmanovic, 23, had every reason to want to wrap things up quickly. Almost three hours later, he qualified for the doubles finals with compatriot Nikola Cacic. They defeated Ecuadorian Gonzalo Escobar and Frenchman Fabien Reboul 6/2, 1/6, and 10-3.
Kecmanovic will have his work cut out for him in today’s finals, and despite being unstoppable, he acknowledges he will need to bring his A game against his long-time friend Ruud. Ruud battled for 2h 11m to outdo Frenchman Quentin Halys (ranked 80th) with 6/4, 3/6, and 7/6 (7-2) scores.
This thrilling faceoff ensures an exciting finale with fans eagerly anticipating how much drive and energy the players will exhibit in today’s final. As the first-time singles finals in the Millennium Estoril Open, both players will fight for the unique accolade to their names. The excitement is palpable, indeed![/expander_maker]
