Monaco and Gravelines-Dunkerque Secure Wins in Betclic Elite League, ASVEL’s Winning Streak Comes to an End

In a weekend filled with exciting basketball action in the Betclic Elite league, the ASVEL saw their winning streak of seven in a row come to an end against Gravelines-Dunkerque, while Monaco continued their impressive run with a victory against Pau-Lacq-Orthez who remain in the relegation zone.[expander_maker id=”1″ ]

Pau-Lacq-Orthez failed to pull off an upset against the league leaders, Monaco, in their latest Betclic Elite match. Despite a strong start from the home team, Monaco rallied back and took control of the game in the second quarter. With Yakuba Ouattara and Elie Okobo leading the charge, the “Roca Team” built up a commanding lead in the third quarter and never looked back. In the end, Monaco walked away with a comfortable 69-94 victory, extending their lead at the top of the table to four wins over Boulogne-Levallois. With a game still in hand, Pau-Lacq-Orthez remain in the relegation zone but could still turn things around in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, ASVEL’s seven-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday against Gravelines-Dunkerque. Despite leading for most of the first quarter, the home team managed to tie the game at the buzzer. From there, it was a back-and-forth battle throughout the first half. While ASVEL held the lead for most of the half, Gravelines-Dunkerque kept things close and never let the gap get too wide. It was in the second half that Gravelines-Dunkerque really came alive, as JaJuan Johnson and Kenny Boynton stepped up and took control of the game. Despite a late comeback attempt by ASVEL, Gravelines-Dunkerque held on for a 74-68 victory, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Elsewhere, Paris enjoyed a successful outing at the Accor Arena in Paris-Bercy, as they defeated Limoges in a high-scoring game. With several players stepping up and balancing the scoring load, Paris secured an 88-81 victory and moved up to seventh in the Betclic Elite standings.

The Betclic Elite league continues to be one of the most exciting and competitive basketball leagues in Europe, with the title race and playoff spots still up for grabs. Monaco remains the team to beat at the top of the table, while Gravelines-Dunkerque and Paris have shown that they too have what it takes to make a run for the playoffs. ASVEL may have seen their winning streak come to an end, but they are still in a strong position in second place.[/expander_maker]
