Antonio Felix da Costa Bids Farewell to LMP2 Class at 6 Hours of Portimao

Antonio Felix da Costa is bidding farewell to the LMP2 class at the 6 Hours of Portimao, the second race of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) this weekend at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve. [expander_maker id=”1″ ]The 31-year-old Portuguese driver will be behind the wheel of the Oreca 07 Gibson for Hertz Team JOTA, sharing the car with David Beckmann and Yifei Ye.

After this race, Félix da Costa will be moving up to the top Hypercar class for the rest of the WEC season. He will be driving a Porsche 963 for the Hertz Team JOTA and will be looking to replicate the victory he achieved at Portimão in 2021 during his last appearance in the LMP2 class.

Félix da Costa expressed his excitement about ending his LMP2 career at Portimão, where he had previously enjoyed some of his best moments in the WEC, including a victory in 2021. He revealed his disappointment about the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic last year, which meant the race had to be held without an audience. This year, with fans, family, friends, and supporters back in the stands, Félix da Costa is looking forward to a big celebration.

Although he will be alongside two young drivers with potential, Félix da Costa is confident that they will be able to put up a competitive fight for the win. He feels that he has great chemistry with his teammates and is looking forward to a strong showing in the race.

Félix da Costa has had an impressive career in motorsport and has proven himself to be a versatile and talented driver. In addition to his WEC success, he has also won the Formula E championship and has competed in various other series, including DTM and GP3.

Moving to the Hypercar class represents a new challenge for Félix da Costa, but the experienced driver is confident that he can make a smooth transition and compete at the highest level. The rest of the WEC season promises to be an exciting one, and fans will be eagerly anticipating Félix da Costa’s performances in the Porsche 963.[/expander_maker]
