Cristiano Ronaldo already has a new coach

On April 13th, 2023, Al Nassr, the Saudi Arabian football team that includes Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo, announced their selection of sub-19 coach, Dinko Jelicic, to replace French coach Rudi Garcia.[expander_maker id=”1″ ]

Jelicic, a Croatian national, has been promoted to the top position after making great strides with the club’s formation, where he led the sub-19 team to a regional championship. The coach has been working with Al Nassr since 2020, and now has a significant opportunity to showcase his skills in professional football.

Al Nassr’s management sees the promotion of Dinko Jelicic as a way to solidify a younger, long-term strategy for the team, with the goal of developing talents and forming a capable team that can compete at both the national and international levels.

Rudi Garcia, the former team coach, was fired after only eight months, leaving the team in a precarious position in the standings and placed mid-table. Nonetheless, Garcia’s departure doesn’t catch anyone by surprise, as the team has been uninspiring on the field with disappointing results over the last few months. This firing opens the door to a new beginning, led by Jelicic, supported by the management and club enthusiasts.

In the official announcement, Al Nassr thanked Rudi Garcia for his commitment and dedication during his short tenure, but stated that a new direction was necessary to achieve future goals.

Club supporters eagerly await the debut of Dinko Jelicic as the head coach, who, according to club insiders, is already working intensively on training and assembling a team for the first official game.

In fact, the new season is about to start, and Al Nassr is facing significant challenges, from the fight for the national title to attempting to win the Asia Champions League, one of the most crucial competitions on the continent.

A lot of hard work will be necessary, but Al Nassr supporters believe that promoting the younger players, combined with the leadership of an ambitious and competent coach like Dinko Jelicic, can take the team to new levels of success and glory.

Now, all that remains is to wait for the new sports season to unfold, to verify if this appointment was the right one for the Al Nassr team and if Dinko Jelicic lives up to the expectations of supporters, management, and players.[/expander_maker]
