Laporta Offers to Mediate Peace Between Xavi and Guardiola

Laporta Offers Himself as Mediator for Xavi and Guardiola to Make Peace

President admits that one of his responsibilities is “to put an end to the bad vibes”
He added that Xavi’s contract renewal is on the right track, but not a priority[expander_maker id=”1″ ]

Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, confessed during an interview with TV3 that he offers himself as an intermediary in case there is any bad blood between Pep Guardiola and Xavi Hernández, arising from the possibility of Barcelona acquiring Cancelo on loan.

The president said, “I assume the role of bridging the gap between Pep and Xavi. It’s one of the responsibilities I have. However, I don’t believe there is any bad blood between them. That said, there are Pep’s followers who believe that by praising Xavi, they are undermining Pep’s legacy. Pep is a great figure in Barcelona. He is a true Culé. I don’t think there is a conflict.”

He added, “Xavi came to have lunch at my house on the Costa Brava, where we are neighbors. Xavi would like to have unanimity. These things do not benefit Barcelona.”
He also mentioned that Xavi’s contract renewal is one of the topics on the table. “He has a contract. He knows he is the best coach for Barcelona, and we are happy with him. He is a great person who respects the club. We will discuss his continuity at the right time. The priority now is to have a competitive team.”[/expander_maker]
