South Korean Footballer Heung-Min Son ‘Rejuvenated’ as Age Law Changes

Son has been ‘rejuvenated’… and will be two years younger!

The South Korean footballer from Tottenham has gone from being 32 to 30 years old in his country due to a change in the law.[expander_maker id=”1″ ]
Now, they will adopt the international system and stop aging on January 1st, as well as not counting the gestation period.

South Korean Footballer Son ‘loses’ two years due to change in age law

Heung-Min Son has found himself in a very peculiar situation. Like any citizen of South Korea, after the approval of the country’s age law change, he saw his ‘longevity’ being modified. Until now, all citizens would age one year every January 1st, and the concept of a birthday did not exist as we understand it in the rest of Western countries.
As a result of accepting the international system, Heung Min-Son, one of the country’s leading figures, would have ‘lost’ two years of age: he will go from being 32 to 30. Son, born on July 8, 1992, is already 30 years old, but until now he was considered 32 in his country. However, this is not a problem for Tottenham or the Premier League, as they already had him registered with his ‘real’ age.
In South Korea, a peculiar situation could arise where a citizen born on December 31st would turn two years old in just two days, based on both the traditional and the modern international systems. Depending on the document and the country, citizens may have one age or another.

South Korean citizens no longer considered one year old at birth due to new age law

Until now, a newborn baby would be considered one year old, including the months of gestation as part of their life. This means they were born with a year already counted. This was one of the peculiarities of the country’s tradition.
Kang-In Lee, also a footballer of South Korean origin, will undergo the same ‘change’ as Heung-Min Son, along with the rest of the more than 50 million inhabitants of the country.[/expander_maker]
