Barca Players Show Solidarity with Jenni: “You Are Not Alone”

Barca Players Rally Around Jenni: “You Are Not Alone”

The women’s team of FC Barcelona, pioneers and a reference in so many aspects, has taken advantage of their first friendly match during the Mexican tour to send a message of support to Jenni Hermoso. Before their victory against Club America at the Estadio Azteca (0-2), the players from both teams displayed a banner with the following message. “It’s over. You are not alone!” the players proclaimed moments before kick-off.[expander_maker id=”1″ ]

“Totes unides fem força,” tweeted the official Barcelona account along with a photo of the banner. In the stands of the Estadio Azteca, other signs of support for the Spanish forward could be seen, little more than a week after the non-consensual kiss incident involving Luis Rubiales. “Football without males is beautiful,” “It’s over. We stand with you, Jenni”… Any occasion is good to use the media spotlight to denounce the serious events that occurred during the women’s World Cup final.

On a sporting level, Barça triumphed over America thanks to goals from Claudia Pina and Judit. After the first friendly of their Mexican tour, the blue and red expedition will travel to Monterrey to play against Tigres Femenil on Friday, September 1st.[/expander_maker]
