Europa League: Lyon Stumbles against Besiktas

Despite dominating the game, Lyon failed to capitalize on their chances and suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Turkish club Besiktas Istanbul during the 3rd matchday of the Europa League. The only goal of the match was scored by Portuguese player Gedson Fernandes in the second half, set up by his compatriot Rafa Silva.

Besiktas was able to steal a win thanks to Lyon’s inefficiency and lack of clinical finishing, with Lyon having several opportunities but failing to convert.
